Callahan Associates International, an organisation
that develops, operates and finances communications, entertainment and
information projects around the world. Created in 1996, Callahan
Associates is active with leading cable communications partners in
Europe.
Prior to CAI, Callahan
founded US WEST's cellular and cable
communications business as well as US WEST International. He was also the
founder of the Cellular Telecommunication Industry Association (CTIA) in
the United States. As President of US WEST International he created
high-growth cable and telecom companies providing cellular telephone,
wired telephone, cable TV, and international gateway services to more
than three million customers in 18 countries. Based in the UK, he oversaw
offices in Spain, Germany, Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland, Lithuania,
Russia, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan and the USA.
He was the co-founder of TeleWest
International, the first company offering both cable TV and telephony in
the UK. He was a pioneer in the development of Personal Communications
Networks (PCN) in his role as co-founder of Mercury One2One, the world's
first PCN Company. With more than 36 years' experience in the American
telecommunications industry and over 15 years' experience in the
international arena, he is one of the world's most experienced global
development and operating executives in the converging fields of
information, communications and entertainment.
He has negotiated partnerships with blue chip companies
such as TCI, Time Warner Entertainment, Cable and Wireless, Bouygues, Olivetti, Itochu, Binariang,
Toshiba and Deutsche Telecom.
During the course of his career, Callahan has formed an
extensive global network of systems developers, operating managers,
government officials, industry executives and financing sources.
