The annual General Meeting of Shareholders of Telenet took place today, 28 May 2003. Michel Delloye (Cityfinance n.v.), Guido De Keersmaecker (Henkel) and Saul Goodman (Evercore Partners) were appointed new members of the Board of Directors. The General Meeting of Shareholders has appointed Duco Sickinghe as Managing Director of Telenet.
Comments by Alex Brabers, Vice President, GIMV:
Owing to his many years of experience at RTL, Michel Delloye will contribute his knowledge of the content market to Telenet. His career with the Group Brussel Lambert also offers him impressive competence in the field of financial markets and structures.
Guido De Keersmaecker has extensive international experience and consumer marketing experience as a member of the Management Board of the multinational company Henkel. He will most certainly contribute a lot to Telenet which occupies a central position in the consumer market.
I am convinced that the presence of these independent members of the Board will provide better corporate governance.
Andy Sukawaty, Charman of the Board of Directors - Telenet, CEO - Cable Partners says:
I would like to welcome Saul Goodman to the Board. Evercore has been a firm supporter of Telenet. His contribution in financial and strategic analysis will provide welcome additions to the team.
The appointment of Duco Sickinghe as General Director reflects the quality of his effort in managing the operation. Duco has piloted the company through difficult markets and uncertainties to a position as a European leader in broadband services to the home.
